Sony Ericsson W960 and K850i

June 15th 2007 01:16
W960
Music Phone!

Sony Ericsson released news about its new W960 Walkman Phone today, which will boast an impressive 8 GB of memory into its 119 gram body. That translates to around 8000 songs on your cell phone, which is around 20,000 minutes of music—more, of course, than you can listen to on one battery charge certainly. Besides being designed for music, the W960 will ship with a 2.6” display that is touch-sensitive and intended to make web browsing a breeze. And since WiFi is included, it will be easy to connect. And then there's the 3.2 megapixel camera, proving that one accessory isn't quite enough for a cell phone anymore, but at least Sony Ericsson is keeping up with trends. Unfortunately the only way the W960 is currently planned to let you use headphones is through a Bluetooth headset. At least one is coming free with the phone, so I guess I should find something new to complain about. Maybe the size of my apartment...

K850i
Picture Phone!

In other, less licit Sony Ericsson news, a Hungarian website has published pics of an in development phone, the K850i Cybershot phone. The K850i centers around a 5 megapixel camera—impressive for a cell phone, no? And if 5 megapixels seems like a bit too much for, say, a pix message of your too cute puppy doing something too cute like chewing on a pair of shoes, the K850i will also include a second camera that snaps message friendly 640 x 480 photos. Unlike the W960 Walkman phone, the K850i doesn't seem to be planned to ship with WiFi, so net connectivity will not be as easy, but you can always take a super nice picture of some else surfing the net. Sony Ericsson has officially kept mum regarding the K850i, but word on the street is that they will announce a release date some time very soon, perhaps during the CeBIT tradeshow. Until then we'll have to make do with the whispers from Hungary.

Full-size Dinosaur Replica

Dinosaur Replica

You remember Ross from Friends? How he played with dinosaur toys? Well, if Ross had gone into, say, the oil business instead of the academy, he might have been able to afford this $60,000 full-sized dinosaur replica.

Standing over 18 feet tall and measuring over 40 feet long, this Camarasaurus Dinosaur will be sure to let all of your neighbors know that, deep down, you're an overgrown 4 year old who still wants to play with toys. Big toys.

Source.

NES Phone

Are you the sort of gamer who longs for the good ol' days when you could be an Italian plumber and squash wee beasties that look something like a cross between cupcakes and mushrooms? And do you ignore phone calls when you're doing something like, say, wasting time playing a computer game? Well, then you might like Ericcson's PSP phone, which is causing quite a ruckus within the gaming sphere. Now if only I had people to call me who I could ignore while I smash goombas... Source

Robopandas attack?

June 13th 2007 21:31
Vicious Panda!

You remember Chucky from the Child's Play movies? Remember how scary he was? Well, Robopanda's not scary. It's kind of cute. But I am sure that if it got possessed by the spirit of a dead, maniacal serial killer that it would be just as creepy as Chucky was. Well, it would be creepy if it could grab knives and stuff. Which would make it pretty cool. Imagine, a whole little army of knive wielding Robopandas! You'd be able to take over the world! Or at least keep yourself safe from other demonic dolls.

Levitating lightbulb

Here's something that would be extremely popular as a practical joke for a week or so: a levitating, wireless lightbulb.
